Founded by two best friends from Eugene, Oregon, Hey Buddy! is more than just a business – it's a testament to the enduring bond and shared passion for music that Luka Varga and Joaqin Arriola have cultivated over a decade of friendship. From their humble beginnings playing in garage bands, hip-hop groups, and middle-school talent shows, to eventually organizing vibrant music events, and hosting recording sessions for artists in their community, Luka and Joaqin had already immersed themselves in every facet of the music scene before their journey led them to KWVA radio station. Through countless hours spent setting up sound for live events, mixing live sound, recording live performances, fixing instruments, and capturing video footage, they honed their craft as sound technicians by producing this weekly live show featuring both local talents and touring artists. Now, as Joaqin pursues his degree in cinema while maintaining his role at KWVA, and Luka has graduated with a degree in Music Technology and Audio Production, their focus is on Hey Buddy! and bringing their audiovisual expertise to you, all while hoping to make some buddies along the way.
